Undefeated is one of the most respected streetwear brands in America having collaborated with Nike, Adidas, Puma, Stussy and Vans to name a few.
Undefeated initially started its life as a trainer or 'sneaker' store in the LA suburb of La Brea. The aim was to offer something different from the mainstream and really appreciate trainers as a high end fashion item rather than just a functional one. The store grew in popularity and Undefeated quickly began to produce its own apparel.
Founders Eddie Cruz and James Bond (no, not that one) instantly identified the name 'Undefeated' as a brand rather than just an outlet for their merchandise. They did this by creating the 'billboard project', initially used as self promotion; however, this quickly grew into a monthly instalment. Different local artists would put up works and it later became sponsored by Nike.
This was all followed by successful collaborations with top brands such as Nike, Puma, Stussy, Vans, Adidas and many more. Since 2002 undefeated's ability for marketing, and more importantly quality apparel, has earned this affluent and aspirational sports-lifestyle brand a very loyal following all around the world. |
