AVIREX, founded in New York City in 1975, got it's start by perfectly re-creating the authentic leather flight jackets worn by World War II pilots such as the A-2 flight jacket and B-3 bomber jacket. In 1986, AVIREX designed the extremely popular "Top Gun" G-1 jacket, worn by Tom Cruise in the hit movie "Top Gun".
