Encore is a swedish clothing brand founded by Mattias Sahlin in 1998 when he was living in Puerto rico, surfing and working as a carpenter. Sick and tired of low quality clothing produced without any care for the environment or working contidions, he went home to Sweden and started Encore. The first couple of shirts saw the inside of a shop later that year. Since then Encore has grown steadily and now presents a range of about 200 styles/year.
The look and feel of Encore is and has always been clean and funky. Inspired by the good life of surfing and snowboarding and the great people we meet along the road. Comfort, quality, fit and true natural feel are always parts of the finished products. Instead of slavishly following the trends of the fashion trade, Encore develops the style and mindset of the brand along the earlier mentioned set of base values.
Guided by the gut feeling of the founder and designer, this simple formula guarantees the survival of the unique Encore style - blissfully free from the latest crazes of fashion but with a fresh approach to each new season. All Encore clothing is made in Europe in small, flexible, high quality factories. The fabric suppliers are located in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Germany. |
