M&C is a legendary Italian brand, whose founder Mantovani is a genius who is brilliant and dares to explore. He was born as an aristocratic bastard at the end of 19th century, his childhood was dim and unfortunate, when he was 10 years old, his mother died, then he was picked up to his father's side. To him,the magnificent house was more like a cage which imprisoned his freedom. Because of his special identity, he was used to the cold shoulders from others since childhood, and suffered a lot of sneers. Mantovani resented the hypocritical, selfish features of traditional aristocrats; hated their conservative, depressing images; so he swore to create an elegant, upright image full of sense of justice for the new aristocrats by costumes.
When he was 16 years old, Mantovani came to Milan to study costume design only by himself, regardless of his father's oppsition. With support from his dream, he studied the development trends of costumes and tailoring accordance to human body structures, used all kinds of art elements to enrich the language of costumes. |
